Matthew
Treated in 1091 passages across the library.
The first Gospel, traditionally attributed to the apostle Matthew, a former tax collector. Written with Jewish readers in view, it presents Jesus as the promised Messiah and King, often noting where the prophets are fulfilled. It gathers His teaching into great discourses, including the Sermon on the Mount and the Lord's Prayer, and ends with the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations.
