Ochorus is a free ministry that publishes classic Christian books to read online and shares printed books across East Africa. This page explains, in plain terms, how we handle your information and the terms of using the site.

Privacy

You can read the entire library without an account. If you don't sign in, your preferences and reading data — your place in a book, highlights, notes, bookmarks, and the days you read — stay in your browser on this device and are never sent to us.

If you create an account, we store your email address (through our sign-in provider) and sync your reading data to your account, so you can read across your phone and computer. That is the only reason we keep it.

We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use advertising or cross-site trackers. We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't collect your email for marketing.

We rely on two service providers to run the site: Supabase (sign-in and database) and Render (hosting). Your data is stored with them on our behalf.

You are in control: you can export or delete your reading data at any time in Settings, and deleting your account removes the data we hold for you.

Terms of Use

The library is free to read and free to keep. Most works are in the public domain; Ochorus's own editions and translations are offered for personal, non-commercial reading.

Some translations are produced with the help of AI and are clearly labelled as awaiting native review. Please treat an unreviewed translation as a work in progress, not a final rendering.

The site is provided as is, without warranties. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

Please use Ochorus for its purpose — reading and sharing Christian books — and do not attempt to disrupt or misuse the service.

We may update this page from time to time; the date below shows when it last changed.
