Amos

Treated in 49 passages across the library.

The prophecies of Amos, a herdsman of Tekoa sent to the prosperous northern kingdom of Israel. He condemns oppression of the poor, corrupt courts and empty religious ceremony, and calls instead for justice to "run down as waters." He warns of coming judgment and exile, yet ends with the promise that the fallen tabernacle of David will be raised up.
