Prefatory Address to King Francis
About this book
Calvin’s summary of Christian doctrine in its final form, the most influential work of Reformed theology. Following the Apostles’ Creed, its four books treat the knowledge of God the Creator, God the Redeemer in Christ, the way we receive Christ’s grace — faith, repentance, the Christian life, justification, prayer and election — and the church, sacraments and civil government. With Calvin’s prefaces, including his address to King Francis, and the One Hundred Aphorisms that summarise the whole.
