Leviticus

Treated in 102 passages across the library.

The third book of Moses, given at Sinai as Israel's manual of worship and holiness. It sets out the offerings and sacrifices, the consecration of Aaron and the priests, the laws of clean and unclean, the Day of Atonement and the yearly feasts. Its refrain is "Ye shall be holy; for I the Lord your God am holy," and Christian writers have long read its sacrifices as pictures of Christ.
