John
Treated in 1177 passages across the library.
The fourth Gospel, traditionally attributed to the apostle John, "the disciple whom Jesus loved." It opens with the Word who was with God and was God, made flesh, and is built around signs and the "I am" sayings of Jesus. Its long account of the upper room, with Christ's teaching on the Comforter and His prayer for His disciples, has fed devotional writers more than almost any other passage.
