Galatians
Treated in 489 passages across the library.
Paul's urgent letter to the churches of Galatia, who were being persuaded that Gentile believers must keep the law of Moses to be saved. He insists that a man is justified by faith in Christ, not by works of the law, and calls them to stand fast in the liberty with which Christ has made them free. It describes the fruit of the Spirit, and Luther called it his own letter.
Chapters
The verses these writers stop at
- 2:20 I am no longer the one who lives; Christ lives in me. Whatever life I still have in the flesh is a life lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and handed himself over for my sake. 74
- 5:22 But the fruit the Spirit produces is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 57
- 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse on our behalf, for it is written, "A curse is on everyone who is hung on a tree." 35
- 3:28 There is no Jew or Greek, there is no slave or free person, there is no male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. 34
- 5:17 For the flesh sets its desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. They are at war with each other, so that you are not free to do whatever you please. 25
- 6:9 We must not tire of doing good. When the right time comes we will bring in the harvest, as long as we do not slacken. 25
- 6:2 Take up one another's heavy loads, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. 24
- 6:14 But far be it from me to boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through that cross the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 24
