About this book
Anchored is an original Ochorus devotional series for readers aged 13 to 17, the next step for those who have grown out of Rooted. Its picture comes from Hebrews 6:19: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” An anchor does not stop the storm. It holds the boat while the storm passes, and the teenage years bring plenty of weather.
Book 1 has three parts of ten days. “Is It True?” gives real reasons for faith: doubt and Thomas, the case for God, the Bible, the history of Jesus and His resurrection, suffering, science and the claim that Jesus is the only way. “Who Am I?” turns to identity: made in God’s image, known completely, the gap between the real you and your feed, comparison, failure, anxiety, loneliness and belonging. “Following for Real” counts the cost: standing alone, temptation, purity, what you post, friends, parents, prayer and hearing God.
Every day ends with “Go deeper”: one chapter from a classic in the Ochorus library where Christians who asked the same questions long ago found their answers, from Augustine and Pascal to Chesterton and Lewis. Scripture is quoted from the Berean Standard Bible.
“‘If You can?’ echoed Jesus. ‘All things are possible to him who believes!’ Immediately the boy’s father cried out, ‘I do believe; help my unbelief!’” — Mark 9:23–24 (BSB) It’s late. Everyone else at home is asleep, and you’re lying awake with a thought you’d never say out loud at church: What if none of it is true?

Questions and Answers
What is Anchored – 30 Days with God for Teens?
A series of daily devotions for readers aged 13 to 17. Each day has a Bible passage, a short teaching that takes hard questions seriously, a question to think about, something to try, a prayer, and a pointer to one chapter of a Christian classic that goes deeper. This is Book 1.
What does Book 1 cover?
Three parts of ten days. Is It True? looks at the reasons for faith, from the existence of God to the resurrection. Who Am I? is about identity, comparison, failure, anxiety and belonging. Following for Real is about the cost of following Jesus: standing alone, temptation, purity, friends, parents and prayer.
Is it all right to have doubts?
Yes. Book 1 begins with Thomas, who doubted the resurrection until he saw Jesus, and Jesus met him with evidence rather than a rebuke. The book treats honest questions with respect and gives real reasons, not slogans.
What is the Go deeper section?
Each day ends by pointing to one chapter of a classic in the library, such as Pascal’s Pensées, Chesterton’s Orthodoxy or Augustine’s Confessions, where believers who asked the same question long ago worked out an answer. All of them are free to read.
Who is it for?
Readers aged 13 to 17, to read on their own or with a youth group or parent. Younger readers can start with Rooted, the series for ages 9 to 12.
Which Bible translation does it use?
Every Scripture is quoted from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), a modern and readable translation that is in the public domain.
