Conclusion: Holding Fast
You made it. Thirty days. Whether you read one a day without missing, or took three months and skipped a few, you’ve done something many people never do: you’ve sat down, opened God’s Word and asked honest questions.
Think back over the road you’ve walked.
In Part 1, you asked Is it true? You learned that doubt is allowed, and that Christianity isn’t afraid of hard questions. You looked at the reasons to believe in God, the reliability of the Bible, the historical Jesus and the evidence for His resurrection. You faced the hardest question of all, suffering, and found a God who doesn’t stand far away from pain but entered it Himself.
In Part 2, you asked Who am I? You heard that you are made in God’s image, known completely and loved anyway. That your worth isn’t measured by your feed, your grades or how you compare to others. That when you’ve blown it, Jesus comes looking for you, the way He came for Peter on the beach. That you belong to a family, and that God has adopted you as His own child.
In Part 3, you looked at what it means to follow Jesus for real: in your temptations, your purity, your posts, your friendships, your family, your prayers and your decisions.
Through all of it, one thing has stayed the same. It was never really about how strong you are. It’s about how faithful He is.
If you haven’t trusted Jesus yet
Maybe you’ve read this whole book from the outside, curious, unsure or still deciding. Thank you for reading honestly. Here’s the heart of it, as simply as we can say it.
God made you and loves you. All of us have turned away from Him, and that sin separates us from Him. But “God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Jesus died in your place and rose again. Forgiveness and new life aren’t something you earn. They are a gift you receive. The Bible promises that “to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
If you want to trust Jesus, you can tell Him so, right now, in your own words. You might pray something like this: Jesus, I believe You died for me and rose again. I’m sorry for my sin. I want to follow You. Please forgive me and make me Yours. If you pray that and mean it, tell a Christian you trust — a parent, a pastor, a youth leader or a friend. You’re not meant to walk this road alone.
Keep going
Don’t let this be the end of your time with God each day. Keep reading the Bible. A good place to start is the Gospel of Mark, a short chapter a day, or a psalm each morning. Keep praying, even when it’s boring. Keep showing up at church or youth group.
And try one of the classics from the Go deeper sections. These books have helped Christians for hundreds of years. The Pilgrim’s Progress (For Teens) is a great place to start. With Christ in the School of Prayer will change how you pray. Pick one, and read a chapter a week.
Coming next: Book 2
Anchored Book 1 was about the foundations: is it true, who am I, and what does it look like to follow Jesus. Book 2, “Real Life,” takes those foundations into the messy places: anxiety, screens, dating, family conflict, grief, failure and anger. They’re the things that test an anchor, and the God who held you here will hold you there too.
Until then, hold fast. He who promised is faithful.
Lord Jesus, thank You for walking with me through these thirty days. Thank You for answering my questions, telling me who I am and showing me how to follow You. Anchor my soul in You, firm and secure, whatever storms are coming. Keep me reading Your Word, keep me praying and keep me close to You for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
