Conclusion A Call to Action and a Closing Prayer

My beloved sister, we have come to the end of our journey through these pages, but in one sense, your journey is just beginning. You have read, you have considered, you have perhaps been challenged, encouraged, or convicted. Now the question becomes — what will you do?

The Bible says that faith without works is dead. The apostle James warns against being a hearer of the word only and not a doer, comparing such a person to one who looks in a mirror and immediately forgets what she saw. Do not let this book be a mirror you glance in and then forget.

Let it be a map you use, a tool you pick up again and again.

Let me leave you with a call to action, in the form of fourteen commitments you can make before God. They correspond to the fourteen chapters you have read. Take them to heart. Pray through them. Write them down. And ask the Lord to make you the woman He has called you to be.

Commit, first, to build your identity on Christ alone. Not on your husband, not on your children, not on your job, not on the opinions of others — but on the Rock of Jesus Christ.

Commit, second, to become a woman of prayer. Set a time, set a place, and begin today. Pray for your husband, your children, your pastor, your church, your village, and your nation.

Commit, third, to read and memorize the scriptures. Begin with small portions, but begin today.

Hide God's word in your heart.

Commit, fourth, to love and respect your husband with a Christ-like love. If you are unmarried, prepare your heart and character for the marriage God may be bringing. If you are widowed, cherish the good, and receive God's grace for the present. If you feel called to a single life, commit yourself to following and relying on God wholeheartedly.

Commit, fifth, to flourish in whatever season God has placed you in — single, married, waiting, or widowed. Remember that no Christian is truly alone. You have been given a great family in the Church, and your life, in any season, can bear much fruit for the Kingdom.

Commit, sixth, to nurture the next generation. Pour into the children in your life. Teach them the scriptures. Pray with them. Love them with both tenderness and wise discipline.

Commit, seventh, to manage your household with wisdom. Build your home and do not tear it down. Make it a place of peace, order, and welcome.

Commit, eighth, to teach other women and children. Receive from older sisters in the Lord. Pour into younger sisters. Help pass the faith to the next generation.

Commit, ninth, to guard your heart, your emotions, and your tongue. Ask the Holy Spirit daily to fill you with a meek and quiet spirit.

Commit, tenth, to work hard and to set godly goals. Use the abilities God has given you. Do not bury your talents.

Commit, eleventh, to care for others. Open your home. Visit the sick. Remember the widow and the orphan. Be a channel of the compassion of Christ.

Commit, twelfth, to serve in your local church. Find your place. Give your gifts. Honor your leaders. Build up the body of Christ.

Commit, thirteenth, to be a light in your community. Live so that those who watch you see Jesus.

Commit, fourteenth, and above all, to know and love the Lord your God with your whole heart.

Walk with Him daily. Abide in Christ. Rely on the Holy Spirit. Take His yoke, which is easy, and His burden, which is light. For out of this fellowship, every other calling finds its strength, its joy, and its meaning.

Now, my sister, these commitments are not fourteen heavy burdens to carry. They are fourteen ways to live out the one great calling to love God and love your neighbour. They are fourteen paths that all lead to the same destination — the joy of knowing Christ and making Him known.

You may feel overwhelmed. You may feel inadequate. You may feel tired. You may feel, "I cannot do all of this." You are right. You cannot. But the Holy Spirit can work through you to do all of this and more. The same Spirit who empowered Deborah to lead armies, who gave Esther courage to approach the king, who filled Mary to bear the Son of God, who sent Priscilla and Aquila as partners in the gospel, who lit the fires of revival in the hills of Rwanda and Uganda — that same Spirit lives in you. You are not alone. The God who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. He will not leave you or forsake you. He has equipped you for every good work He has prepared for you.

Go forth, my sister, in the strength of the Lord. The world needs Christian women more than ever — women who pray, who nurture, who teach, who work, who love, who serve, who shine. Your generation is waiting for you to take your place. Your children are waiting to be shaped by your hands. Your nation is waiting for the mothers and grandmothers who will call down the power of God from heaven.

And one day, when your race is finished and your course is done, you will hear those blessed words from the lips of the Lord Jesus — "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." That joy awaits every daughter of God who has been faithful. It is worth every tear, every prayer, every labor, every sacrifice.

I will leave you now with a closing prayer. Pray it slowly. Mean every word. And then go, in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Closing Prayer Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, I come before You today as Your daughter.

I thank You that You made me. I thank You that You saved me. I thank You that You are shaping me into the woman You have called me to be. I confess that I have fallen short in many ways. I have not always prayed as I should. I have not always loved as I should. I have not always walked as I should. Forgive me by the blood of Jesus. Wash me clean.

Renew a right spirit within me. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Teach me to walk in the good works You have prepared for me. Help me to love my husband and children. Help me to teach the next generation. Help me to manage my home with wisdom. Help me to work with strength and integrity. Help me to serve Your Church faithfully. Help me to be a light in my community. Clothe me with strength and dignity, that I may laugh at the days to come. Give me grace for today and hope for tomorrow. And when this earthly journey is over, receive me into Your everlasting kingdom, where I shall see You face to face with all the saints. I ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
