Conclusion: Brave Daughter

You made it through another 30 days! Well done, brave daughter of the King.

In Book 1, you learned who you are: loved, chosen and made on purpose by God. In this book, you learned what that means for how you live. Because you belong to God, you can be brave.

You learned that being brave doesn’t mean never being afraid. It means bringing your worries to God and to people who love you, resting at night in His care, not worrying so much about how you look, living one day at a time and remembering that His perfect love drives out fear.

You learned to use your voice like the five daughters of Zelophehad: to speak up at the right time, to say no to what’s wrong, to never keep secrets that hurt, to ask for help and to speak the truth in love.

You met women who served: Phoebe, Priscilla, Dorcas, Peter’s mother-in-law and the widow of Zarephath. And you learned to serve with gladness.

You learned to lead like Miriam and the queen of Sheba, with wise words, standing firm, serving others and passing faith on like Lois and Eunice.

And you walked with the brave women who followed Jesus: Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, the woman who touched His cloak, the mother whose faith wouldn’t quit, and the women at the cross and the tomb.

You also met five more real women who trusted God bravely: Helen Roseveare, Pandita Ramabai, Ida Scudder, Elisabeth Elliot and Lilias Trotter.

That’s a lot of brave women! And now you’re one of them.

If you haven’t trusted Jesus yet

The bravest thing you can ever do is trust Jesus with your whole life. He died on the cross to take the punishment for your sins, and He rose again, just like Mary Magdalene saw. He offers you forgiveness and a place in God’s family forever. You can pray something like this:

Dear Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I’m sorry for the wrong things I’ve done. I trust You as my Savior, and I want to follow You all the way, like the brave women who followed You. Thank You for making me a daughter of the King. Amen.

If you prayed that, tell someone: your mom or dad, a pastor, a leader or a Christian friend!

What’s next

In Book 3 of Daughters of the King, you’ll learn about growing up: your feelings and emotions, how God designed your body and the changes that come as you grow, making wise choices, discovering what God might be calling you to do, and finding women who can help you grow.

Until then, be brave. You are a daughter of the King.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”
